Long wait times, growing difficulty accessing care, workforce shortages, and challenges across aged care and community support services are affecting people right across Aotearoa. These issues touch all of us — as workers, patients, whānau, and community members.

Behind every health and care service are dedicated workers who keep the system running. Yet many are being asked to do more with less, while demand continues to grow alongside an ageing population. The pressures experienced by workers and the challenges faced by patients are two sides of the same coin. If we want better outcomes for our communities, we must address both.
