Sponsoring Organisations

The sponsoring organisations are committed to creating a broad-based organisation comprised of the diverse groups of civil society capable of influencing change in society. From the sponsoring organisations, a sponsoring committee is formed, which is an ad hoc group of committed groups leading the development of the alliance. The Sponsoring Committee is not the organisation. Its job is to sponsor the building of the Auckland alliance, Te Ohu Whakawhanaunga.

Aotearoa Latin American Communities (ALAC)

ALAC is a social services provider that supports migrant and refugees, mainly from Latin America, throughout their settlement process in New Zealand. Its multi-disciplinary staff provides holistic attention to clients' needs through intervention tasks

Asylum Seekers Support Trust (ASST)

ASST began in 1989 as the Auckland Refugee Council Inc (ARCI). We saw the plight of people who sought asylum, families who had escaped life-threatening danger and were desperate for a safe haven. We're now known as the Asylum Seeker Support Trust

Belong Aotearoa

To address the critical pain points that newcomers experience on their settlement journey, we work collaboratively with newcomer communities, government and other organisations in the non-profit and profit sector to innovate and lead initiatives

Child Poverty Action Group (CPAG)

Child Poverty Action Group (CPAG) strives to achieve the elimination of child poverty in Aotearoa New Zealand. We work to provide evidence-based research about the causes and effects of poverty on children and their families, and to inform the public, policy makers, media and politicians of the changes to policy needed to reduce child poverty.

E tū Incorporated (E tu)

E tū was launched in October 2015 with the merging of the Engineering, Printing and Manufacturing Union, the Service and Food Workers Union and the Flight Attendants and Related Services Union. We have a long history of fighting for the rights of workers, our families and our communities.

HOST Aotearoa International

Fostering humanity, hope and dignity for refugees, asylum seekers, migrants and displaced people.

HOST International is a non profit organisation working to create better lives for people on the move and the communities that host them. We focus on strategies that promote individual wellbeing, community capacity and structural change in refugee protection.

Maori Women's Welfare League (MWWL)

Pacific Women's Watch NZ (PWW-NZ)

Pacific Women’s Watch (NZ) was established in 2001 to be a link to the Asia Pacific Women’s Watch, the umbrella Watch which monitors, review and reports on the status of women in the Asia-Pacific Region. Under its special consultative status with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) PWW(NZ) is mandated to make the voices of women in Pacific states heard more loudly at the international level.
