Building the Alliance - May Network Meeting

Building the Alliance is a gathering of our sponsoring organisations and other organisations/communities interested in finding out more about Te Ohu Whakawhanaunga and our emerging Auckland alliance.

Leading up to establishing our Sponsoring Committee, we will focus on getting to know specific organisations who are committed to being part of Te Ohu and explore together how we apply elements of community organising such as relational organising and power analysis.

Over May, June, July we hope to hear from Migrant Action Trust, the South Auckland Housing Accountability Group, and E Tū Union about how they are addressing concerns surfaced through listening to members and the community.

About Us

Broad-based organising closes the gap between our communities and society's decision makers enabling people to influence their own future and the systems and structures that define their world.

Our alliance comprises of community, union, faith and other organisations across Auckland. The purpose of the alliance is to look at what it would take for families and communities in Auckland to flourish by addressing the causes of poverty.

Our first steps are to gather the organisations who are willing to go on the journey with us to build relational power, and do the work of organising and strategizing to make a difference.

We invite interested organisations to get in touch with our Community Organisers to find out more and to come along to this event.
