Building the Alliance - Gathering of Organisations

Building the Alliance is a gathering of our sponsoring organisations and other organisations/communities interested in finding out more about Te Ohu Whakawhanaunga and our emerging Auckland alliance.

Broad-based organising closes the gap between our communities and society's decision makers enabling people to influence their own future and the systems and structures that define their world.

Our alliance comprises of community, union, faith and other organisations across Auckland. The purpose of the alliance is to look at what it would take for families and communities in Auckland to flourish by addressing the causes of poverty.

Our first steps are to gather the organisations who are willing to go on the journey with us to build relational power, and do the work of organising and strategizing to make a difference.

We invite interested organisations to get in touch with our Community Organisers to find out more and to come along to this event.

During the workshop, we will explore how does a broad-based alliance work, what our first steps of setting up a sponsoring committee will look like, explore some tools in broad-based organising and get to know other diverse organisations who are just as passionate about social change.
