Sponsoring Organisation Gathering November 2019

About Us

Broad-based organising closes the gap between our communities and society's decision makers enabling people to influence their own future and the systems and structures that define their world.

Our alliance comprises of community, union, faith and other organisations across Auckland. The purpose of the alliance is to look at what it would take for families and communities in Auckland to flourish by addressing the causes of poverty.

Our first steps are to gather the organisations who are willing to go on the journey with us to build relational power, and do the work of organising and strategizing to make a difference.

Sponsoring Organisation Gathering

During our August Sponsoring Organisation meeting, we explored together the timeline towards founding the alliance and considered the importance of organised people and organised money. This upcoming meeting will be an opportunity to flesh out the timeline some more, to explore next steps, and to consider how community organising is relevant for each of our organisation.

We are joined by Joe Chrastil, an experienced Community Organiser from the North West of the United States who has pioneered similar alliances in Seattle and Spokane.
