Building Power to Make a Difference - one-day training

Community organising is a model for social change used all over the world to achieve meaningful social change. It is the methodology behind the many successes of the Living Wage Movement in Aotearoa New Zealand.

Te Ohu Whakawhanaunga is affiliated with the Industrial Areas Foundation and powerful alliances of civil society all over the world, including Living Wage Aotearoa New Zealand, Alliance Sydney, Citizens UK, Sound Alliance and more.

At this introductory course, we will explore what is the broad-based community organising approach to social justice, building relational power and influencing change and forming strategy for meaningful action.

These principles can be applied to engaging with local and national issues that affect everyday people and our collective future.

Here is a short youtube video describing what is community organising created by Citizens UK.

If you are already familiar with community organising and are looking to the next step to hone your skills, please get in touch about being involved in the 5-day residential training later in the year.
